Adobe Releases Security Updates and Enhancements to Magento 2

Adobe recently released Magento Commerce and Open Source 2.3.2, 2.2.9, and 2.1.18 with 75 security enhancements to help close RCE (Remote Code Execution), XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) and other vulnerabilities.

Merchants who have not upgrade to Magento 2 release yet must go straight to Magento Commerce or Open Source 2.3.2 as the Magento 2.1.18 release marks the last supported software release for Magento 2.1.x version. This version will no longer receive any security update or product quality fixes after June 30, 2019, as the support window of it has expired.

Developers and merchants must implement and test the new security patch in their development environment first to ensure that they work as expected before deploying them to the production site. You can review the latest Magento release notes for more information on the update. The Magento Security Center has also released additional information about the security patches included in the new versions. You can review that information from here. Not only this but Magento also made some enhancements to its Cloud Platform and Page Builder Content Tool.

The New Relic Infrastructure that provides Ecommerce merchants with flexible and dynamic server monitoring is now available for Magento Commerce Pro. Magento also continued the enhancements to its cloud developer experience through better local development via Docker and improved self-service environment configuration capabilities to ensure reliable deployments and better time to market.

The new content migration module of the Page Builder tool helps merchants using the BlueFoot extension to upgrade to Magento Commerce 2.3.1+ hassle-free without losing their website content.

The other highlights of the new release by Magento – An Adobe Company includes:

  • Significant performance upgrade with 20% better page-load time, and up to 90% improved category browsing for large catalogs.
  • A large number of bulk actions will now run in the background to let administrators continue working without waiting for the tasks to complete.
  • More than 130 product quality fixes across several critical areas of the platform.

If you have not Migrated to Magento 2 and looking for reliable Magento upgrade and development services to help install the new security patches, ioVista can be your one-stop destination for all Ecommerce platform migration and development needs.
